Special Collaboration: Atelier & Repairs x Candiani Denim Store

The Gianluigi Blouson is named after Candiani’s 3rd generation owner of the mill, and it is made exclusively for the Candiani Denim Store. Inspired by the garments that factory managers wore in the 1950s, this cropped coat has oversized flap pockets that are positioned lower to allow for easier access and adjustable side hem tabs for cinching.

Fabric: This garment is made with Candiani’s 80th Anniversary Re-Gen fabric, SK6262 K-Old Recycled. The Re-Gen fabric is winner of the ITMA 2019 Sustainable Innovation Award. This fabric is composed of 50% Refibra™ (recycled cellulose fibers) and 50% recycled cotton from Candiani’s mill. It is dyed with Candiani’s Indigo Juice® Technology and sized with Kitotex®, a natural polymer that replaces conventional chemicals and grants a significant reduction of the water and energy used in the process.

Atelier & Repairs, founded by Maurizio Donadi, is a design-driven product and services platform dedicated to circularity. They approach design from the perspective of sustaining a product through many lives by utilizing intentionally selected leftover and sustainably made textiles while manufacturing with as little environmental impact as possible.
Their mission is to establish a new world standard of infinite reuse by reducing excess at both artisanal and industrial levels.
